Last week the 501st Legion Singapore Garrison was invited to a Lucasfilm party at The Arena, a popular nightclub in Clarke Quay.
The party is organized by Lucasfilm Animation Singapore, a division of Lucasfilm Ltd. The aim of the party is to announce plans for the future. The big project currently is working on The Clone Wars TV animated series presently showing in the US and locally. Upcoming project includes CloneWars – Jedi Alliance, a video game on the Nintendo DS.
With these projects on their hands, the studio is recruiting animators with the Jedi Masters Program, a paid apprenticeship providing talented young artists with the chance to work with industry professionals from ILM, LucasArts and Lucasfilm Animation. So if anyone here thinks you got what it takes for this apprenticeship, refer to here for more info.
Ok here’s the more important part. We also get to meet Mary Franklin (centre), Events Manager for Lucasfilm Ltd who was in town on a business trip. Mary coordinates marketing and promotional events for the company and is also one of the editors for the Star Wars Insider magazine. Mary is a big supporter of the 501st Legion and is an honorary member as well. It was certainly an honour seeing and talking with her in person. Not forgetting the food/drinks and souvenirs too.
