Assorted 501st Legion Stuff

Oh no. Not another post where I brag about how cool the 501st Legion is. But hey that’s the truth, the 501st is really that cool!

Anyway it has been some time since the last trooping event (it’s only 2 weeks ago!) and the next outing might be in March. So please bear with me as I document some recent and past events.

Last December, during one of our Christmas kettlings, my senior the TIE fighter pilot and I were honoured to be featured on Singapore VR, a project by local photographer Aram Pan. Through the use of VR (Virtual Reality) imaging, visitors are “immersed” in fully interactive 720 degrees environment. Click here to check it out. Health Advisory: Avoid moving around too much or risks getting a splitting headache.

Also spotted at Singapore VR are EOY cosplay and Anime Asia Festival 08 and many other places in Singapore.

Patch trading is something I picked up of late. It’s a great way to know fellow 501st Legion members from overseas because not only do they trade their patch with you, they also attach their trading cards together in the mail as well.

This Japanese Garrison patch and trading cards are gifts from Cliff of the UK Garrison. I’m very thankful. My second Japanese Garrison patch. Tsukasa nendoroid puchi SAFS courtesy of Danny.

On the dewback is a Celebration Japan patch which I traded with JT from the Terror Australis Garrison. Very cool trading cards they have as well. Very nice.

So what is Celebration Japan? Well it was a 3 days event last year at the Makuhari-Messe Convention Center from 19 to 21th July to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the premiere of A New Hope in Japan.

To bad I wasn’t in the Legion back then else I would have gone. 😦

These are 3 of our brothers who went to represent the Singapore Garrison. Btw this Boba is not the same Boba some of you might have seen in my past trooping events.

This life size dewback is made by Goro Inoue-san, a member of the Japanese Garrison. Awesome work!

Boba captured a beautiful Princess Leia cosplayer. (‘~’)

Our Boba met up with the Real Boba Fett Jeremy Bulloch who played the famous bounty hunter in the original trilogy.

Lastly before we go, something interesting spotted over at a fellow trooper TK899’s blog. Click pic for high res.

Till next time, This is TK8316 signing off.
